You might like Deep Purple, it's like Black Sabbath, and from the same time. Also Led Zeppelin is from the same time. Get Lynard Skynard's 'Free Bird' too that is an awesome track. There are several versions..the 9:08 length version is the best.

Hmmm. Excellent. No listing of rubbish bands just because no-one has heard of them....

Most of that list is pretty good, but for a little difference also try:-

AC/DC : For more of that classic metal
The Sisters Of Mercy (mainly Vision thing for you methinks) : Totally awesome, but move more into gothy mode (Floodland even more so)
Ozric Tentacles : Moving more to ambient rock, but with trippy effects and guitar. Really really really good on a decent surround system, and your head somewhere on the ceiling
Pink Floyd : You are a programmer aren't you?
Faith no more : Think it was mentioned. But really really try them. Earlier stuff = better
Twisted Sister : Good metaly stuff
Skid Row : Oh yes indeedy. You will probably really like some of their stuff
Hawkwind : old time stuff that then became Motorhead (good too)
Ratt : Good stuff
Helloween : Oh yes.
Queensryche : Pretty good

Must stop now. Must eat. Listening to Deep Purple (In Rock) right now. Classic all time stuff that.

Cheers

Not really. Some of the music is alright I suppose, and as long as it raises the rock scene again, then great. And their british, so wayhey! Just nothing compared to when we pretty much ruled (not the taking over half the world bit).

Oh, and anyone remember painting Def Leppard logos on your school bags? Oh yes indeedy. Still rate Hysteria as one of the greatest albums ever made.

Quote: "Hawkwind became Motorhead??? You sure???"

C'mon. If you don't have your Maiden T-shirt, and Megadeth backdrop, then your not wearing the right shoes... erm... and can't come in... That's a good point. Must get my Megadeth backdrop back... did you know they have stopped now??? No!!!! Cry.

Sigh, although since I share my lift to work these days, I tend to have the Buffy soundtrack playing (the musical one), or Bryan Adams. Cry again. Then again, was on my own today, so shot up the motorway at about 100mph with good old Metallica, Gun's 'n Roses, and a little Sisters of Mercy (honestly now, is one of the best albums of all time with Vision thing). Good old MP3 10 disc changer, and several Mini-Disks. All at nice loudness. Nice. Amazing how much more you drive like a nutter with loud rock music. Most dangerous in my car (Subaru Impreza Turbo).

Oh, and for a massive cult album (and a bit of a laugh), then try Spinal Tap (the movie soundtrack, not the girlschool thingy). Is great. I have an old tape original, and it even has the dobly sign on it!!!!!

Cheers

Oh, and hole in the sky was my favourite Sabbath song. And the lyrics seem quite topical in an ozone kinda way (doubt it meant that though back in the 70's).

Weird Al didn't do any of those songs. If you like comedy, then you might like some of these actual Weird Al songs:

Eat It
Yoda
Dare to be Stupid
Amish Paradise
Gump
eBay
Couch Potato

half the bands you guys mentioned suck. ozzy rules, so does sabbath, but rammstein? dude they are only famous cause they are foreign and scream lots so goths like them. ben folds five, half good, but faith no more kick a whole lot more arse than ben folds. so dl all of faith no more music. and if the cops give you trouble over it, tell em to shove it or you will get your forum pirate onto them.

"Requiem for a Dream (Orchestral Version)" - Clint Mansell (more beautiful than anything you'll ever hear)

"Taxi Ride" - K-PAX Soundtrack - stunning

I didn't post Ironman!? I have it, though.
Also, Ozzy isn't Goth.
His kids are.

Nothing else matters(metallica album)

Battery(Master of puppets)

Sanatarium(Master of puppets)

One(and justice for all)
