THIS DOES NOT RELATE TO DBPro and instead relates to some other programming.

While it doesn't relate to DBP, I don't see how it could hurt DBP in anyway really.

I'm interested in the same thing as you Wik. I'll try to do some searches in google and post what I find later.

Programming/Scripting questions in general have a history of being allowed as long as they're posted in this forum. I've only once seen Rich tell someone off for asking and that's nothing compared to the hundreds that have been allowed.

Plus, I can't see how this is anymore irrelevant then a "Word Association" or "Post your Desktop" thread.

Hmm...My ISP gives me 25mb for a webpage and stuff and I e-mailed them and "Jason" told me that:

But it doesn't seem to work

Try uploading a file called test.php to your webspace with following line of code in it

and then try running it in your browser. It should give you many pages of the hosts php settings.

So the "thread locked" comment has nothing to do with the content of this thread, it's actually about a grudge.

www.members.lycos.co.uk works quiet good (I am on it) but look at the banners : on big at the right side and something coming from above ... a horror.

Wik, What do you want to make ?
I you are refering to write your name in a box ... and the name will be displayed on your page. It's quiet easy to do that without PHP.

I would like to recomend buying a little book about PHP (not the big expensive ones) that covers at least SQL commands, and you probably want string functions covered. The one I got is great and that's what I used to learn myself all I know about PHP and SQL and I'm now coding my own forum. The book I got is in swedish so I can't recommend it to you but the price was around $25.

I can't see why you shouldn't be able to talk about PHP in here. PHP is a very good thing for every DB programmer to learn so that they can better show off what they have made and interact with their fans/users. If you have problem with talking PHP or any other language in here then head over to LLRGT there you can discuss any language you want as long as you don't do it on a DB board.

I said that getting data from a box then saving it to a file using HTML is impossible.

Could someone just make something that allows you to put in your name and it saves it in a database or something? I don't want it listed.
