Blitz Basic is DX, Blitzl MAX is Open GL.

hehe... yeh bb and b3d both use dx.... i read when i was updatin my blitz3d that blitzmax was going to use opengl... so they wont have to release so many patches... newer versions of dx come out more often...

yeah but Microsoft only have to worry about single platform compatibility (^_^) so its easier to make it more quickly. C++ on a Win32/Win64 system, OpenGL covers all platforms.
But a good point is we've gone from OpenGL 1.3.0 to 1.4.5 in under a year - and there were roughly 12 versions inbetween, so its not really that DirectX update more - its more they're far more public about updates and they oftenly fixx those major bugs that Microsoft has a habit of making

lol never used BB3D much, had the demo for like a day and got bored of it - so close to C++ i thought fudge it might as well learn C++ hehee
Always thought it was OpenGL ho hum
