You guys are starting to use Apollo General as a chat room, it's not a chat room, it's for topics of interest to the whole community.

Pincho.

Pincho that's exactly what I'm thinking. You post should be posted and stickied on this forum board.

For a hit counter I put this in the .html file where I want the counter displayed.
I got the php from some site and changed it a bit, google for php hit counter and you will get loads of links.

The text file that holds the counter looks like this

the file needs to be writable, how you do that depends on your ftp client.

You then need to create a .htaccess file and put this in it

If you want seperate counters on more than one page then you need to make a new counter file and change the F$ in the php to your new file.

I also name all my pages with out php content .htm so they don't bother the php parser thingy.

No idea how secure/safe/reliable it is and every access to the page will increase the counter so it isn't a try indication of visits.
