I think he is asking whether FPS creator will be written in DBP language and editable via DBP code or written in C++ with options to add code from either C++ or as DBP code.

I would imagine the core of the product is written in C++ using the DLLS of DBP but thats only a guess.

yes, you can add custom code written in DBP format to your FPS CREATOR programs, this will let you do much more then the normal click and paste program creators do.

RGT may be gone but the best DBP forum is still alive and kicking, check it out.

FPS creator is made in DBPro.
It gives you the code it creates at the end.
You can then edit this code.

No, it's not made in DBP, it's being developed alongside it.

And FPS all follow a very similar track-- first person, a number of weapons that shoot, things to kill, buttons to push. RPGs vary from Final Fantasy to Morrowind to Gothic to Neverwinter Nights... impossible to make one generic 'RPG maker'. Even the specialized ones have, frankly, all sucked.

no, it's being made in DBP.. they changed their minds i'm serious. they said they originally were developing it using the DBP DLLs but are now actually writing the thing in DBP.

From the last news letter.
"Our number one priority project which has been in development for well over a year now is looking very hot indeed! It's called FPS Creator and it's by far the best game creation system we've ever developed. With this game making tool you will be able to quickly construct complex 3D worlds using its powerful and flexible world editor. We have also spent a lot of time ensuring that the system is very open so that you can direct what happens with your own game. Utilising the latest pixel and vertex shaders and maximising frame rate with a powerful visibility engine, FPS Creator will allow you to design all manner of 3D First Person Shooter games. In spring 2004 we will start to showcase some of the technology behind this exciting new development. Please don't worry, you will not be limited by it, you will be able to add-in your own code to customise your creations!"

FPSC is being written in DBPro and will also produce DBPro code. Yes I am on DBDN and if you want to read Lee's own diaries you can find out or email lee himself.

It's true, written in DBP they once said how good this was because of the number of bugs they have had to fix.

Sigh, it would be nice to subscribe to DBDN. I've been a good forum user for over a year. Does anyone want to show me the secret handshake and password?
