I have a basic video editor, but I'm wondering if there is anything free out there that will let you reduce the file size by reducing the quality and pixels.

This is still Chessplaer! I just decided to spell my handle correctly!

simply convert them to divx/xvid avi's and change the sound channel to mono (stereo channels are often useless if the original isn't that great) and you'll prolly end up with half the size.

there's a dr.divx thingy that's like "avi making for dummies".

Keyboard not detected. Press F1 to continue.

You got it in one the_winch. I also use that software and in my opinion it is the best one out there. You have have so much control over the conversion in terms of bitrates and sound quality and it is dead easy to use. I trialled over 20 different packages to convert various videos for website usage and nothing came close to it.

Boo!
