Yer well this is my first attempt at a 3d model, decided to do something simple to start with, its also my first attempt at unwrapping. It was made in Milkshape. Any constructive crit is welcome.

Cheers

Edit: Here's the wireframe version...

I dont know anything about 3D but it doesn't look half bad dang good for a first try edgs are a bit rough and you can't see the barrel.BTW whats the stuff in the trigger gaurd?
Maybe you could smooth it or somthing?like I said I don't know jack when it comes to 3D.

In wireframe version, how come the model is halved by two?(between theleft side and the right side) It will make more polygons. Don't know anything about pistols or guns, though...

You're lookin' at the ZOE2 freak, y'know.

Hehe, it's a really good piece of software, and in my opinion it's really easy to learn

I used a reference picture of a Glock 17, and put it into milkshape. I then positioned the vertices around it. Once I'd completed the model I textured it in milkshape too.

Looks good.. Union a cylinder primitive for the barrel.. so it just sticks out the end of the gun.

Its a bit too high poly, you could do it in half, but since its your first try its nice To make it a bit more low poly, model one side, duplicate it then EDIT > Mirror FRONT TO BACK so you can see both sides of the gun when you spin around then EXTRUDE one side to connect it.
