For curvy landscapes, I use matedit www.matedit.com

Then if you want to make it a model, I first load it into DBP, export a greyscale image of the matrix (using some code) then I load that greyscale image into Milkshape and edit the model a bit, then apply a texture.

DeleD was intented to be a level editor (world editor if you like) and is now being transformed into a full 3D modeller. At the moment it is most suitable to create levels with. See [href]www.granadagames.com[/href] for details.

@JeroenNL-
Your sites down.... bandwith was exceeded.

I'll try a gain b/c I wanna try it.

@Graham23-
For worlds I usually use JTEdit (http://www.jtgame.com/jtedit) or Magic Worlds. Check out the DarkBASIC Showcase (http://darkbasic.thegamecreators.com/?m=showcase&i=5). it has 3 world/level editors that I use. They are pretty good.

You can make outdoor worlds with any 3dmodeler, But with the Matrix and Terrain functions in DBPro its not nesessary (or practicle). I'm new to DBPro, but can see amazing potential in layering Matrices for different FX. For an example, shift Matrices for a river or lake, sky or clouds. One matrix for the overall shape of the your map. Then layer Matrices almost like you would have tiles in a 2D game.

@ xTransworldx : goto http://www.granadagames.com to get a copy of DeleD. That's the site of Dave Granada who has devoted it to DeleD (amongst other things).

I use Paint Shop Pro to make all my levels.
All objects are placed in PSP, Matrix heights,
lights, sounds, and even waypoints.

thanks spygamer. actually i really don't know how to use it at all. can it even make levels? That program does tell me enough info and it took me a while to turn it to english too. so for now can you teach me the basics like how to build a simple level or even tell me how to work the buttons cuz when i pressed them they did nothing that i knew of. Im a beginner at this so bare with me.

Am I correct in saying DBPro can load halflife worlds? Isn't this something to do with BSP? If so, is BSP better than the methods used above?

Thanks, from a confused user.

I hardly ever recommend this program, but perhaps Cartography Shop is right for Graham. Check out the forum here for screenies, it's getting better all the time, and is pretty much ideal for lightmapped levels that DBPro can handle.
