When I try to load our 3d objects(3ds) into DB Pro it either crashes or freezes on a black screen. I managed to load some simpler objects, but complex ones crash. The objects are created with 3d Max 5 and have quite high poly counts, but I don't think this should be a problem. Any ideas why do this happens? Maybe some of the 3d Max features are not supported by DB Pro?
I'm downloading 3d Exploration to try converting to .x, maybe this will help?!

If your mesh has holes, open edges it probably won't load. Use he "STL Check" modifier in max to look for errors.

Yay, 96 errors in the first and 38 in the second object
Is there a way to fix the open edges automatically in 3d Max? I'll need a week to fix them manually

You can use the "Cap Holes" modifier, Then check again. Also try "Optimize". These should take care of the majority of errors, but some may need to be fixed manually. The errors should show up in red when you run "STL Check", which makes manual fixes easy to find. ie. Delete or Weld vertices.
