I press F5, after typing the 4 lines of code from page 15, the spining cube, and all I get the Dark Basic Pro logo sitting there, what am I doing wrong?

You forgot "sync on" at the top and "sync" in the main loop. Hope that helps!

I have got DX9 installed, and I didn't think the sync would do anytihng, as I don't even get a screen started, I can literally see the source in the background, and the Dark Basic Proffesional logo on the top, and it doesn't build the executable..

I am on a AMD 1.4, 768 MB Ram, and Geforce FX card, with all latest drivers, and windows updates all done..

It would appear it is a patience inssue, as in I have none.. I left it for a while, after tryint to compile the showcase example, and it compiled, and now all my lines of text that i put in compile, I think it must have been the very first initialisation or something, just to get things sorted....
