can you use total terrain by all seeing I software with dbpro it says it was made with blit3d in mind but that the format saved is a .bmp file the output can be used with any application that uses greyscale images as terrain heightfields does dbpro use these?

where is matedit keep hearing people talk about it but no site links?

yeah um did you think about trying www.matedit.com and yes you can use bmp heightmaps in DBP.
