hi all,
i am new to this forum and this community.(i am 13)

i have just got my-self £100 for selling my old computer and i have chose what to spend it on. i am spending it on the bundle package that consists of 'darkBASIC','darkMATTER','the 3d game maker' and 'darkBASIC archive'.(i have chosen these because i plan on getting a job in this "field" of computers.)

It says there are easy to use tutorials for someone who has never used code before(which would be me).

So can someone please elaborate on this and tell me what the tutorials are actuallty like before i buy them.

I have already downloaded axes of evil and i am greatly impressed with it and i want to have a go at something my-self.

Programming is something that seems very hard at first, and then suddenly seems very easy. The problem is getting through the difficult year, and through the fog into the easy programming future. Only about 3 in 10 people stick with it. Best to buy the bundle, and try it out, or even get DBPro.

i will stick with it because i am fasccinated with computers and code.(i recently started to learn HTML)

if i was to get stuck on the basics of basic would i be able to get help from people here as i know no-one who knows anything about computers.

Yes, people do get helped on here so long as they ask the right questions, on the right board. You can't expect to begin with a difficult game like Half life, or an RPG. Best to try to make something easy at first, and then get to more difficult games gradually.

There's a wierd idea that 2D is easier. It isn't.
Start in 3D but don't neccessarily use all the dimensions (only have movement in 2)

A good example of a 2D game using 3D technology is the LType demo. Instead of drawing a ton of sprites from the fighter, the creators used a single 3D model and moved or tilted it as needed.

I had been programming for a few years before I got DB. To be honest, I had to think about how do basic game type stuff. Game programming is a lot different than applications.
