looks like their doing better no registration key needed any more . downloading the 1.5 upgrade as i write this and i'll see how it is.

the $49 level editor looks nice but i've been wrong before.
(it has direct compatablity with darkbasic.)

I'm anxious to know how well gameSpace1.5 level editor plugin works with dbpro. Here are the features Caligari claims:

* Use any gameSpace modeling tool to create geometry

* Ability to handle large levels and export them in pieces, so oversize levels can be easily created and then used in game engines

* Export to all packages that support standard MAP / WAD format, such as Torque, 3D Game Studio A6, Blitz Basic, Dark Basic, Quake and Halflife

* Import WAD files made in 3D Game Studio A6, Dark Basic, Quake, Halflife or any app that supports the WAD2 or WAD3 format

* WAD files have mipmapped textures

I personally won't buy any more caligari products. My experiences with TS5.2 arn't too good. Just when I finally start learning ways around the bugs when modeling, I encounter a whole new load of bugs while experimenting with animation. I practically have to clog my hard drive up with useless models since the undo button doesn't work.

I've tried GameSpace, and can't say I really enjoyed it. For the price I can't argue, but there's better alternatives.

Has anyone compared LevelExporter (new from GameSpace) and Cartography Workshop? Which would be better?

Thanks,
Doyle

after a day with gamespace it has not crashed once compared to truespace and it really easy to put a model in ut2003 & the plugin called game creator in 1.0,1.1 is bulit in to the save as menu for .md2,md3 models and it wont mess up anything like haveing to re-load gamespace. 1.5 is way better.

Any problems with loading a .x object and keeping the textures?
I used the trial version of GameSpace, very easy and powerful, however, my objects lost their textures when loaded into DBPro. Any Ideas?

Thanks All,
Doyle

I like game/trueSpace's interface and features, and that $269 deal is good. We're unable to take advantage of the deal by Feb17th (low on funds) so I contacted them and their customer service was excellent. How is the level editor?

it's gamespace. the thing they dont tell you is to snap everything to the grid.and the level editor is a plugin that saves you map and compiles it and all the other stuff it needs.
if you can use gamespace it's better than cartshop(not saying cart shop is bad.)because you have full control and can really make a good level,it saves the lights too(but i think it makes them a light map.). still playing with it.

How are .map and .wad used with DarkBasicPro?
I do not understand though the manual was read.
The answer doesn't come from development.

Could you teach?

Thank you.
