I tried to append an animation to an object. They are exactly the same objects, just different animations, all the vertices are assigned to limbs and the animations work in DBPro on their own. However when I use this line...

append object "C:\Program Files\Dark Basic Software\CharacterFX\guyStartRun.x",1,1

The error message...

Runtime error 7606 - Append can only add to the end of animation at line 12

appears. It seems quite specific but I'm not sure what it means. Am I doing this correctly? Thanks for your help.

p.s. I made this in characterFX and exported as .x

Do you bite your thumb at me sir?

append animation is very weird. In dbc you could append a model at any frame of the animation but for some reason this changed, you have to append the model on the very last frame of your original model otherwise dbp has a fit.

However it wont even work since ther is another weird problem that the animation gets screwed up after the appending (only tested with models with bones/skinning.

hope i helped

K. Guess I'll have to do with having multiple objects attached to a limb and hiding them appropriately. Thanks.
