Hi,

I would like to know what dll's are used for and what language makes proper dll's for either DB or DBP. (Hopefully it doesn't cost much)

dll's can be used to basicly add your own commands to DB and you could use *almost* every language to make a dll .

visual basic, i can confirm, that you cannot make dlls in it though vb is heavily dll driven. dlls are a nice way to call external functions which can be used in other programs when you don't want to take up extra space in coding.

You cannot make dlls for DBP in Visual Basic because Visual Basic is ActiveX driven.

the cheapest route is bloodshed C++
the simplest route is purebasic or simply ask for a dll.
