Not to familiar with that software package unfortuantly.

If I were you, I'd try deep exploration, and see if you can change to a format of .x or .3ds.

Just taking a quick look at the software, you might be able to load the .dxf into Deep Exploration, then convert to .x or another useable format.

Other than that, I'm not sure what to tell you, but I hope you can get it working.

A book? I hate book. Book is stupid.

Polytrans is another program that can convert just about any format to any format. If I remember correctly, it supports Solidworks. Like Yellow said, Deep Exploration would be another consideration. I've never used it, but it seems to be popular for 3D conversion and manipulation...

While posting this message, I decided to check out my copy of Polytrans. It does support Solidworks, but you will have to pay more for the converter. Any additional converter plug-ins will cost you. The basic program runs about $378.00, if I remember correctly. I can't remember what Deep Exploration cost at the moment because I don't have it yet.

The cheap route would be to export to DXF (almost all 3D apps can do this) and then load it into Milkshape 3D. From there you can assign materials and textures before exporting it to .X format.
