Most of the games I try to run out of the showcase or the alienware competition always have a "fail to load bitmap" message when i run them. The zip files seem to have duplicate bmp's and when extracted to a folder I get a "replace" file dialog. Does anyone else have this problem...

I assumed all i would need to do is download the zip, extract it to a file and play it. Apparently not!

Any ideas??

This is because you are unzipping wrong. There is an option with most unzipping programs, like winzip, whether to use 'folder names' or not. If you don't then folder structure is ignored and everything unzipped into one folder. Most games in showcase consist of multiple folders and like you say, the same image name might be in more than one folder.

What are you using to unzip?
