Hi, I'm new to DarkBASIC...I was wondering if it could be used to make a tactical RPG like Final fantasy tactics, a standard RPG, or a side scroller game like Megaman. Thank you

Of those three, making a tactical RPG would likely be the most difficult. But they are all doable I think. I guess it depends how skilled you are at programming, modeling, and drawing. Are you using DBP or DBC?

you could easily (depending on how good you are at programming) make all 3 of those games. You just need to know how and what you need

In the Gameversity Game Design Treatment seminar, by subject is a turn based tactical combat game similar to Interplay's Fallout Tactics with the look of Bluebyte's Incubation. I'm very confident that DBP is capable of making that kind of game and I can say that I'll be putting my time and money where my mouth is to prove it.

It's possible with both versions of Dark Basic. The hardest part would be design, and working out all the features, physics, and stuff like that. Persistence and practice is the key.

First thing you should know is that DB is not an engine. It's a language designed to allow ppl to write there own engine more quickly and easily than having to do so with other languages. I really don't see any game that couldn't be created in DB, so long as you know how to do it. And physics shouldn't be much of a problem once the new plugin is completed.
