Hi, ive made about ummm 3 models(human body).

And when doing this i made only the half part, so when i was done with the halp part of the model then i mirror the dang model............done

Then i welded the vertexes together..............done!

Wow looks nice, then i export it to a .3ds format then to a .x to be used in my project. Then i wiev the model and only the original part of the model was shown????????????????

Why??????

I think I know what you are doing and its a problem I have had in the past, When you clone an object in max DB will often invert the normals of the cloned part, The quick solution to this is to convert the model to double sided. Hope that helps

how do you make it double sided?(be useful fo making cheap hair)

you using the mirror tool or the symetry tool(look in the modifier stacklist), if you do just right click it and select "collapse to" and retry exporting...

The proper solution to this is actually within Max. It's not a DB Issue, it's a "quirk" of 3dsMax. When you mirror an object, the normals get flipped. I don't pretend to know why, I don't see any purpose in it, but it's been this way for a long time now. And it makes it all the worse because you can't see it in 3dsMax unless you know how.

The solution is fortunately very simple. Add a Reset X-Form modifier to the stack on the mirrored half. ( This is in the Utils Tab, if I recall. ) Collapse that down and the normals will all be flipped. Now that you can see the problem, you can solve it very easily by going into poly sub-object selection, edit>select all and click on flip, among the poly tools.

Done and done.
