OK, got an old PC but it crashes before it gets to the login screen, so I want to try to boot in DOS Mode and reformat the HD. I cant do Start > Restart in DOS Mode because I cant get that far. Anyone know how?

THanks

Why format? Why not just delete or rename the windows folder and then reinstall? Much safer. You can clean up the old folder later once you are sure that you have saved everything.

For free Plug-ins, source and the DBPro Interface library for Visual C++ 6 and .NET

if you get in safe, use the system tools to repair the original install. Also its a good idea to make a win98 boot disk, just to have. Any good IT guy worth his salt always has one of these at the ready (good for other things aside from booting up a 98 system)

Then sue him , you can try the F5 key though

If you still cant get it, then go to www.google.com and search for win98 bootdisk, look trough the results a bit, and you'll find a site with downloadable bootdisks.

[edit] Look at this beauty: http://www.tobs.uku.co.uk/boot98.html [/edit]
