One question at a time

. Select all of the faces, then in the top left corner it will tell you how many there are. However, this is not the poly count in DB, and DB needs triangulated models (models with faces that consist of 3 vertices), so rightclick --> tesselate --> triangulate. Now the number in the corner will be the true poly count. Just use ctrl-z to undo the triangulation.
As for the other question, I don't know.
