There are a few ways to do this.

1: This way is the most complicated and confusing, and only works if you have DB Classic. Use TEXTURE BACKDROP filename$ I do not recommend this.

2: Set DB to render 3d in front of 2d, this may cause computers to run slow if their cards aren't powerful enough.

3: The easiest way is to make a plain and texture it, then place it in front or behind objects as you need, you can even retexture it to change the background.

At_the_Gates used method #3 quite effectively.

*Copyright At_the_Gates of course.

No way. That way is by far the easiest!

Done.
That's what I used for my alienware game.

The texture backdrop splits the screen into 6 different sections, well it repeats my one picture 6 times no matter how big the picture is. What have i got to do to make it stretch across the whole screen or atleast stay as one picture?

Thanks. BB9

snap the plane to the camera (I can't remember the Command) and set the object (our plane) to draw to the backround. The same concept can be used with a small sphere around the camera to create a 3d compatible sky.

This is the best way to do it for more complicated games but also much easier once you learn it. not so many qwerks.
