Hey everybody,

I'm making an fps and I just modeled my first gun. But whenever I put the model into DB all of the parts of it appear to be overlapping. I looked at the model in the browser that comes with DB and it looks fine. Does anyone know how to fix this???

If it is an .X model and you have DBP patch 5.2, you've got a well known bug on your hands. There are some solutions, but...

Write up some details, which modeller are you using, which format, which version of DBP (or DBC), which version of directx do you have, can post a screen shot, etc. The more data we have, the more likely you're get a solid answer.

Also, don't forget to search the other forum threads. This problem probably has been addressed and a remedy has already been posted.

Sorry about that,

I'm using Milkshape v. 1.7.0 (the demo)
It's a .X format
I'm using DBC, I'm not sure which version though
DirectX 9.0b

How do you post a screenshot? I would do that but I do not know how.
Thanks

OK I got it fixed.

I had used the Lock Object command to position the gun where I needed it on the screen. After I took out the command and replaced it with a different positioning code, I found that my model looked fine. I guess Lock Object doesn't work?

Oh well thanks anyways.

I'm glad you were persistent and found a fix. That puts you head and shoulders above a lot of new users.

yes I have the same problem with human models and no one seems to know how to fix it, and I have been trying everything I know to fix it and nothing works!!!! Is this a DBC problem??? This is the only problem that is preventing me from making a game.

Feel free to send the model to me and I'll look at it with several tools that I have to see if the problem is with the model or the code. If it is the code, I can't offer much helps since I', a DBP guy.
