hey guys, I heard about this windowed version of dark basic I haven't seen it exactly but they said it was somewhere on the disc. The only problem is that when I tried looking for it I couldn't find any clues as to where it was.

if you're talking about the windowed version of the editor for Dark basic Classic, you need to download DarkEdit

if you have the darkbasic classic that comes on CD then its in the install`d folder on your HD, just click on xdarkedit and then configure it through the edit menu or it won`t work, you need to supply the following paths

darkbasic program

prefered HTML browser

help file

default startup path

they work more or less ok, but the help file won`t load the examples, everybody always skimps on the help when they make an editor , I suppose by the time they feel the need to write an editor they have got the hang of DB, cheers.

Mentor.

edit had to put paths in code blocks since the forum eats backslash`s

it does so too (how did you do that?) LOL

thisisatest

thisisatesttoo

"thisisatest"

Mentor.

EDIT: ah! it was ok until I went into edit message, then the first line changed to thisisatest, a forum bug methinks

EDIT2: the second line had double backslashes between words, now they have gone as well. most weird, it only eats backslashes one at a time, every time you edit the post some backslashes disapear.
