This is a mech thing that I made in 12-15 hours. Made it for the boxx compo on http://www.3dtotal.com. it's been running for a bit over a week now...(you can find a brief on the compo on the 3dtotal forumns) I need crits on it before I rigg and texture it.

The accessories(weapons) are only there as a guide for me, I'm going to remodel them properly later on... The hands are crapped up too, got to redo those too.

lookin good, however it seem's a bit complicated but no doubt lotsa work, the only thing i could suggest is to flair out those tenical thingys to give it a more natural look. good luck to you!

hmmm, weel, you gotta make nicer hands, the boots (feet) are crapy too, about the textures, will they be cybernetic ? half-organic or just plain metal ? cause if theyre metal i think the model will look crappy, anyway, looks relly good, but you gotta make nicer boots and hands, looks promising

That is quality work. The only thing I can think of is (for the hands) split them so it has at least 2 fingers + thumb, and tone down on the smoothing since it's a mech, and kind of robot-ish. All in all, beautiful.

I personally would say, maybe needs to be a bit chunkier, looks very nice but maybe just a bit too smooth. Dont know if you have seen and Full Metal Panic(Anime) but they have some really nice mechs you could maybe use as a reference.

hell yeah I've seen Full metal panic + FMP Fumoffu + FM Alchemist(thats not actually parta the fmp series though).

anyway I decided to can this guy, looks too "dumb", I started a chibi looking guy, I'll upload it soon hopefully...

Very nice model, but I think it could do with having a more solid stance, maybe you haven't got round to that but it will look nicer if you bend the elbows a bit, make it stand a bit straighter, maybe with it's head a bit further back as the chest bit makes it look like it's leaning forward. I think a fighting stance like this...



Forgive my crude drawing :p. Well, not exactly like that but you get the picture. Also it looks like its wearing high heels . I think you should make the sole solid, or at least change the shape.

Trying is the first step towards faliure.

don't wory about this guy, I killed it... 12 hours of work just doesn't look nice enough... too many flaws, too painful to rigg. overrall I dislike it...

heres a piccy of my 2nd concept


but I decided to kill that too, yep, I don't think I have the time to crank something like that in a month(Plus render, rigg, texture, mod)

so I did a 3rd one, it looks like a piece of tird too but I'll stick with it, post something once I get around to it, not worth it atm.
