Hi Chubz,
I know some 14 year olds who know C++, some Pentium assembly, and basic hacking. As long as you take the time to work through some tutorials, and plan out your games, it will be long, but not difficult. The concept you have to understand is this: the commands are like tools in a toolbox, the memory and media is like wood. You use tools to construct the wood into something useful, and you can get as creative as you want with your tools.

Im 14 and learning dark basic. I know how to 3d model and know how to fix 95% of windows problems. I also know some qbasic and Html and im decent at image creation. I just sit down and mess around with something till it works.

EDIT: If you have an urge to insult your intelligence, I think I read that theres a demo on file planet.

Dude, I'm 12 and I'm making decent games AND I know C++ AND HTML. So, no way is 14 too early. And seriously, my friend let my try out his copy of 3D Game Maker at his house, and my God, every single game you "make" in it is identical! There is absolutely no variety! The ONLY thing you can change is the models! The code is identical for every single game! So yeah, just go DB Classic or Pro. I recommend the Beginner's Guide To DarkBASIC Game Programming (search around, it sells for $35) to learn DB.
