Hmmm...
Irish fool, plz could you tell us what format that music is in?
And what does Windows Media Player actually DO that Quicktime DOESN'T by not working?
For that matter, what does Quicktime DO when you try to open that file?
If your PC/laptop/thing is underspecified (e.g., my old PC), I've found that (personally) the 'Load Music' and 'Play Music' commands dont produce any sound..
And do us a favour, and click Start > Run and type in Dxdiag will you?
(If it doesn't work try C:\windows\system32\dxdiag.exe on XP, ME, 98 and 95, *OR* c:\winnt\system32\dxdiag.exe on 2000 or NT)
(And if that doesn't work
YOU DONT HAVE DIRECTX INSTALLED CORRECTLY!!!!!! (so reinstall))
In dxdiag, click 'Save All Information...', save the text file somewhere, open it up, press Ctrl+A (to select everything) followed by Ctrl+C (to copy it), before coming back to this thread, posting a message and in the Message: box pressing Ctrl+V to paste everything. Then click Post Message.
(About the above technique... I just wanted to find out some more info about your machine

)
