however im not sure what kind of models people want, so if you suggest a few models much appreciated

ps: dont be too specific eg: a certain car model generalise eg: sports car or urban car,

and i will post the models in this thread as i make them so stay in tune

Organic models such as people and animals are always the hardest to model, animate, and texture. Perhaps a male/female set of Halo style troopers would be nice. Also, it might be nice to include the source files rather than just the .X if you were to make then in something like Milkshade 3D so that folks could apply custom skins and know the locations of named joints, etc.

Side note: Did you ever work on A-10s or do you just like classy tank killers? I used to be a A-10 weapons troop back in the days when the cold war was still hot.

1st im making my own human model for a lil project of mine, then ill make a halo style player

edit: these smilies are disturbing usially looks happy, in this case it looks like its a canibal.

Coolness, I'm sure that's something several people will get some mileage out of.

Well the human body is one of the hardest things to model and a lot of games feature people. Therefore, a 'template' human body would be great so people who don't have the time or skill can modify it to their needs.

Well... I'm starting a FPS game for a game making compo soon. I loved the guns u made (I think you made them) for operation Genocide. Maybe you can add a set of animated guns with arms and hands, unlike as they come in DarkMATTER. And some melee weapons would be useful..

I need all sorts of animated people of various types for game #2 which I'm already researching. I'm also learning to model people and animate them using Milkshape 3D and Character FX. Since I am a lousy artist, templates would be nice. Men, women, children, business suits, casual attire...

What is bad is that I had an idea for a game and a month's work on it (before I found DB) and two artists. They bailed due to domestic reasons leaving me with the early stages of a partial world empty. So now I'm getting ready to start on it again, fresh - same story board but a DB Pro engine in about three weeks.

Since I am the only one working on everything, I could use some short cuts in that area.

"Damn it Jim, I'm a programmer not an artist!"

so if i read between the lines you want me to join your team?

well atm im helping on 2 db/p projects
and im on 3 bf 1942/v mods
one of which is point of existance, and im eagerly awaiting its release, so i can kickass with my tanks

hmm after ive made this halo character which now needs uv mapping, ill make a tamplate person and make variations for male/female/child/adult so minimal editing is required

atm, im diverting about 70% of my workload to my new project which is unknown to the majority of forumdwellers just to my main friends know of it, but i hope it will be a success

thanks for your time

LOL!!! I'm not looking to build a team this time. I wish, but considering how last year's fiasco I'll probably go it alone unless I see any volunteers in the audience... >silence< okay. I'll go it alone.

I just animated a model last night (I downloaded it) using Character FX and I've done a partial model of a person, three times. Each not bad but still, I look and realize that there are easier ways to do some of what I've done so I scratch them and start over. It turns out that I might have some artistic flair after all.

I'm off to play with Milkshape 3D to see what I can do with it.
