Hi. Please be critical, I want to know what you guys think. I made it start to finish today, so I will probably look at it tommorow as I always do and find things to change. Eventually I will incorporate some cool things for DB users and put up my code and tutorials there.

Thanks,
Jeff

It's quite nice. You made me realise that game sites are often too scientific looking. Afterall, games are about fluffy animals, Sonic The Hedgehog, and animation too. On the other hand, you have a fluffy animal top half, and a scientific bottom half, it looks good like that, but they don't match 100%, only about 80%. Maybe put a wireframe fluffy animal at the bottom, and the same, smoothed, coloured picture at the top.

it says 'untitled' in the title bar, you should change that to make it look more professional!

Very, very nice Maybe you should make the hadwritten t ext on the top banner links?

Next task: convert it to fully fluid CSS

And example of CSS layouts at my site http://www.designingthe.net

Thanks for the comments and the suggestions. @Pincho that is a good idea, I will see if my friend can render me something. @pricey, yes, I just uploaded this to see what it would all look like online, I will put a title. @Daivid Thanks What would be the benefits of switching to css? And btw, I like the idea of your CMS.

Nice stuff... o_O my website uses style sheets... say if i wanted to make a table a certain way... instead of typeing in all that code i could just put id="table"... it could apply a border on the bottom of the table or cell... change the text height width... valign... set background images... pretty much everything... and i want to change the style of my site... i dont need to change all of the template files... i can just edit the 1 theme file (which is almost never used... even though it saves time) and the style sheet file... ^_^ loads of fun and loads of time saved...

Yeah, Puffy, I use cascading style sheets too, but David T saying fully fluid css, not entirely sure what he meant. Getting rid of table alltogether?

Thanks

THe main pulling point for me about CSS is the sheer easiness they are to code for. Whereas wiht tables you have to go to great lengths to create, for example, a box with a thin top and bottom border, CSS allows you to define it in a stylesheet and use it anywhere in your document.

This allows you to separate design from content, so instead of describing your page as a large table where cells are randomly placed iwthin the source, you can define your source in an easy-to-read, net fashoin which also degrades gracefully onto platforms such as PocketPC.

Sample page:

And with a little bit of clever CSS that page can look this http://www.davidtattersall.me.uk/stats/new/, complete with rollover menus. Without CSS you'd have to use tables and javascript to get the same effect.

Some examples

http://davidtattersall.me.uk/cat/index.php?shorts/menus/ CSS menus using just <a> tags

http://davidtattersall.me.uk/cat/c/shorts/csscells/example.htm Nice CSS boxes complete with heading spaces. They look like tables but are just a <div> and a <h1> tag.
