I have my budget - £50.00
This is an upgrade from a GeForce 2, so £50.00 will give me a big boost.

What do I go for? I've looked at these below, I'm tempted to stick with GeForce...

Microstar GeForce FX5200 128MB DDR/AGP/DVI/TV-OUT/Retail
http://uk.pricerunner.com/computing/components/graphics-cards/159320/details

Sparkle GeForce 4 MX4000 128MB DDR/AGP/TV-OUT
http://uk.pricerunner.com/computing/components/graphics-cards/192620/details

Creative 3D Blaster 5 GeForce FX5200 128MB DDR/AGP/DVI/VO
http://uk.pricerunner.com/computing/components/graphics-cards/184545/details

Sparkle GeForce FX 5600 128MB DDR/AGP/DVI/VI/VO/Retail (bit expensive)

Any suggestions appreciated

i go with the assumption that the bigger the numbers the better the product is

In the beginning, the universe was created...
This made alot of people very angry and it has been widely regarded as a bad idea...

I recently bought a Sparkle FX5200 128MB

Cost £44.06 (including VAT)

I upgraded from a TNT2 32MB and the difference is amazing.

I got mine from here:

if you get a gffx5200 (i have one) make sure it is an "Ultra" not the paired down version. Kind of like how they had TI vs. MX in the GF4 series. MX blew compared to TI.

good luck

CattleRustler: thats not a reasonable compare, since the non ultra FX are just slower (lower memory and clock speeds), MX had major functionality missing compared to the same number Ti, I had a Geforce 4MX and it was more like a GF2, no shaders for a start, the basic FX cards do have all the functionality of the ultras, just slower due to slower clockspeeds and ram, you would expect that for the price difference anyway...unless you where hopelessly optimistic

Mentor.

1: P4 hyperthreading 3ghz, 1gig mem, 2x160gig hd`s, ATI radeon 9800 pro gfx, 6 way surround sound, 2: AMD 1.2ghz, 512mb ram, FX5200 ultra gfx, stereo 16 bit soundblaster, ups.

GeForceFX > sh*t.

making statics errors with other devices, and with main board. Making screen anomalies on monitor, sounds like a 'staubsauger'

...and then the evil hungarian terrorist killed the peacefull shootin' soviet soldiers...

The dual monitor support and TV out clinched it.
