QUARK or Valve Hammer Editor are probably the two best free .bsp editors around. There also may be some floating around this page too.

I like GTKRadiant v1.4.0....some of the .shader effects work in DBPro too (the rain and fire effects look great).

Don't suppose you have any screenshot to see these fire effects

Was it easy for you to use GTKRadiant and import the .bsp into DBPro?

http://darkbasicpro.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=25483&b=3

The above thread has a couple shots I posted...I just build the level as I would normally for QuakeIII (all you really need is one light and a player_start entity).

If you use the load bsp command and include the .pk3 file that contains the textures and .shader files it loads fine.

edit: Yeah me too fixed the link try it now..I initially used search and copy and pasted...doesn't work that way I guess.

First you'll need QuakeIII Arena installed on your system (I got it at a Wal-Mart for 10$).

1.Q3ToolSetup_Mar172000.exe
Install this file(.bsp build tools) to your Q3 directory.

2.GtkRadiantSetup-1.4.0-Q3RTCWET.exe
Install this file(map builder program) and set it up to use Q3Tools(instructions are in the help section).

3.(optional)GTKBuild_v20_full.exe
Install this file(separate build tool)and configure the same as GTKRadiant.

I use the third program because it compiles large maps much faster and is less prone to crashing.

Sorry for the late reply I had to upload these files on my free web service.

edit: Do some checking around at planetquake...you may only need the Q3 demo and not the full game(not sure about this).
