Newcomers DBPro Corner / builing level confusion

I'm a little confused on how this works. When making building a level first i assume you do in your 3d program. then import it or what And do you change everything that you expect to run into(walls,building, cars in the street) a sprite because you can only have a collsion or hit with a sprite. If anyone can explain this or their process of building a level then please reply. thanks

Object Collision
load up your level objects using load object, then check for collision using
object collision(object1,object2)
and a if statement

In the beginning, the universe was created...
This made alot of people very angry and it has been widely regarded as a bad idea...
