my pc whistles when i make it do relly fast stuff eg (this is c++):


anyone else get this? it doesn't do it with db cause it's slow but c++ is fast as hell in this counter in comparison and my pc whistles

Mine whistles a lot. Its really loud, mainly because its fan is mest up and keeps banging against the side of the computer.

Sometimes my computer starts making weird buzzing noises....i tap it and they usually go away.

Watch out for cables running over the fan - that makes a hell of a noise...

@mm0zct - Hehe ... maybe your PC just feels the need to whistle.
I think I know what you mean though, it's not your fan right? I have the same thing with some of my C++ programs. Maybe it likes to whistle while it's doing something fast.

I once had a tech support call where a guy's brand new HP laptop would play Flight of the Bumblebee every night at 12 out of the PC speaker, REALLY loud.

He claimed to have installed no software and, get this, he claimed that the battery wasn't in AND it wasn't plugged into the wall. And he is a doctor.

Well he sounded normal, that's another weird part. Anyways, I told him to call us back 5 minutes before midnight to let one of our support guys hear the music over the phone. I checked the logs a few weeks later and he didn't call back.

I often whistle while I work.

Maybe you've got a memory leak, and the hole is so small that it whistles as it escapes.

Maybe it's so impressed with itself, it's giving itself a congratulatory whistle.

If it's going really fast, maybe it's the wind blowing through it's hair.

Maybe you've found it's resonant frequency.

Hope I've given you plenty of explanations for you to investigate.
