dont look at modeling program that make x models. Instead look for modeling prog. which fits your taste and look for exporter plugin or exporter program which translate between formats. Most of the modelers suport export of 3ds files and there are lot of tools around to convert 3ds to x.

Anyway, Milkshape 3D is modeler which export directly to x and work well with DB. You may look at it.

If you're going to use milkshape3D you must need a opengl 3D graphics card or program, that's all I know!

opengl is a series of software libs not bound to your graphics card.

a good graphics card would help tho.


milkshape / unwrap3d / character fx are a good combo
