in darkbasic classic and pro there is a option to make transperant object

i'm doing my game level in max. How do i do that with max
for example i have a 3d plain in max and i put a tree texture on it. the texture also has a black background how do i export the x file. Without seeing the back?

something simular to darkbasics set object 1,0,0 effect

If you want the black to be invisible in MAX then you need to use a mask map. In a mask map you can specify a black and white bitmap to tell MAX what is visible and what isn't. The white portions of the bitmap will be visible and the black ons will be invisible.

Hope that was helpfull. BTW have you tried doing the tutorials that come with max they help alot.
