how much is darkbasic like visual basic?

my games are only as good as the people who play them...
so if my game is crap then its your f******g fault!

The two are not even remotely similar. Visual basic is a totally event driven, object oriented language. I consider myself rather proficient in VB, even wrote a Pac Man game in VB. VB isn't really geared for game making, at least not in my experience.

If you want a really good comparison, I like think of DarkBasic as a next-generation version of QBasic. The syntax is startlingly (it's Spring Break...can't spell rite...) similar. Even other languages similar like *shudder...Blitz have really swapped around the formatting for BASIC syntax.

I'm an intermediate programmer in VB and all i can say is that it would be a great plus in DB programming if you know how to code in VB (version 6.0) specifically.

me 2 - VB was my first ever programming language, and i learnt it when i was 10 (really, although ive only got 2 the advanced hacking stuff now)

if VB programs could communicate with DB programs without leaving out text files or something slow like that, the results would be excellent - u could write programs in VB that communicate with DB to provide advanced features, maybe even error handling
