So when I use the "Set Display Mode" command, the lighting gets all blown out on my objects. If I set specularity to 0 on an object it will be fine, but why is this happening? If I don't use the set display mode command it's fine, I can configure the .EXE setting to run at whatever resolution and it's fine, but if I use that command, it's not.

You will have this problem whenever you change display mode after loading your objects/images etc.

The solution is to ensure that your media is loaded after the mode change instead

The set display mode was run before anything else was loaded.

Have you tried 16 bit mode?

Trying is the first step towards faliure.

I've tried 16 bit,32 bit, and several resolutions.

Just an example, see what you get

Run that, then rem the set display mode command and try again. For me, that gives two different results of specularity.

Still wondering...anyone? It's not bit depth and it's not changing when the set display mode command is called.
