I'm updating my website as, to cut a long story short, it died as I was the only one (out of my friends and I who ran it) could update it, and I'm very laz...

Anyway I want to add a feature that will allow any of them to access a page (putting a password on it isn't a problem) and to type in a comment that will then be added to my front page.

I just have no idea how to do it, any suggestions? Pre made scripts/pages?

On a side note:

To advertise my site is anyone willing to do a link exchange thingy? You put our link on your site and we do the same on ours..

Thanks,

Try searching the javascript sites for Guest Book scripts.

Guest book scripts. PHP.

I could host one if you want?

My first option would be to use PHP Nuke. If you have PHP and MySQL, it's a doddle. if you need any particular functionality, chances are there will be a contribution for it.

If you don't fancy this, next option is to search perlarchive.com for the functionality you want. I don't think you'll find anything as Nuke for free though.

Thirdly, you could try implementing HTMLarea, but this requires the pages to already exist, so is somewhat limited.

Sorry if I got you a bit confused, I'm not looking for a guest book what I really want is something like this:

OK imagine this is my website:

Hi this is my website!

<Here I want to have text that can be altered without altering the actuall page if you know what I mean>

So that anyone who works on the site can add a comment to the front page...

Well sort of (no PHP) all I want is to be able to edit some text on the home page of my site without altering the entire page. Like added a news section (if you goto www.newgrounds.com and look under the top bit there is a news/comment thingy - i want something simila to that).

That's definately PHP. Do you have SSI on your server? That might work also.

I'm using the 100MB free web space I got with my nifty new broadband account, but if worse comes to worse then I suppose I can just host that page elsewhere and edit my nav. links.
