Umm... Hello anyone know how to add the textures onto objects in 3D studio Max 6? I know how to create everything else basicly but i cant find out how to addd textures except for the choose texture color thing.

umm... 3D studio 5 might be the same way as version 6

well

open the file up
select the object
goto the material editor on the top bar(you might have to move it along a bit) it is the one with 4 spheres on
select an empty material
click "show map in viewport" button( the one with the checked cube pic
click the little square button by the diffuse section under blinn basic parameters the one under the padlock
when the material / map browser opens select bitmap
choose your file

that should do it

You could also try learning how to use and model in 3dsmax using the excelent tutorials that come with it. It has some very good ones on how to model and texture low polygon objects like a ship and human shape.
