I saw in some third party description of dbp that there was a sql plugin available, is that true? it would help my project a whole lot...

well since you can use dll's in dbp pretty much anything is possible. Have a look in the Codebase and see if you find an SQL plugin there. If not, maybe someone will mention where to find one.
