I don't think it will take a few secs since there is a lot of freebies that are scattered all over this forum.

Here's the link to Metasequoia LE:

http://www21.ocn.ne.jp/~mizno/main_e.html

Meta is pretty much in the same calibur as Milkshape 3D, but it has different strengths and weakness. It has better tools for primitives and editing the mesh. It can support multiple objects, materials, and UV projections. It even has support for polygon level painting of materials/textures. It also has export for a fair number of formats including .X and SUF files which are used with DoGA CGA.

Downsides, while I think it is easier to use than MS3D and cheaper, it has no animation support, it is difficult to register newer versions (you might be able to bug Walaber about it), and its English help files are limited.

I do have a BableFish translation of the help files here:

anyone with quick japanese questions can feel free to ask me... unfortunately I'm really busy with work, so full-on translation is a bit out of the question (sorry Zircher)...

3D Studio Max
JT Edit

That is what I can think of from the top of my head. JT Edit was made by someone on the forum, very nice. The others can be found by doing a google search.

LOL!

GMAX is like a free version of 3DSMax, but useless because you can't easily get your models into DB, then there's the legality to worry about.

I'd personally get stuck into JTEdit for characters, and DeleD for levels - both free, and the authers are often found loitering in this very forum.

That's correct VanB. JTEdit can be very usefull for characters and animation while DeleD's strength is in levels. Plus a new version of DeleD (including an Undo function this time!) has just been released.

Use the free 3D modeller DeleD to get skilled in 3d editing! Visit http://www.delgine.com for more info.

No problem, I was just keeping my fingers crossed and holding out a little hope. BTW, I'm about halfway through the raw (raw as in bloody awful) translation of the Action Designer PDF for DoGA CGA L3. With a little persistence, I'll have the rough draft finished next weekend. I can then begin brushing up the text to make it sound like proper English.

Paf, why don't you start a new thread and please post more information about what you need. AI is a huge field and the best you will get is a general answer. The more details you can provide the more likely you'll get a specific answer to a problem.

Oh yeah, post in the right section as well. DBP, DBC, or the New Comer section.
