The image URLs connect to a PHP script and not an image file. So, only little red Xs turn up. Since the images are in your browser's cache, you may not notice the problem.

The first one is working, but "1jpeg" is not a valid extension for an image file.

I use Opera and they look good, also, isn't "1jpeg", it's "1.jpeg". Windows only take as extension the text after the last point, so the image is JPEG, not 1JPEG...

Edit: I LIKE IT! you can send it to [email protected] I'll use it in my RTS game and give the proper credits (the model looks a bit sci-fi but I'll modify it a little or use it like it is)

If they are made in DoGA, go to the render menu, set your render options for file size, and click on the render button.

You need to throw us a clue as to what program you're using, if you want us to help.

Perfect pic posting, DarkWing. I particularly like the texture on the tank, the camo blends smooth arund the edges.

Side note, DoGA does something interesting on export. When you export a file to the .X format, DoGA also dumps all the textures used as bitmaps in the same directory. This is handy because many native DoGA textures are in a different format like PIC.

Also note that DoGA will export many of the material settings, even if Dark Basic drops those on the floor or ignores them.

When you want to use blended textures like in L3, you may want to start "cooking" your textures so that they will export properly. Give me a hollar when you get to that point and I'll show you how I do it.

okay thanks! I'm using L2 for now becuase it lets you texture stuff and i don't know if (and\or how) L3 lets you do that...

L3 blows L2 out of the water so bad you'll need a telescope to find it. The kicker is that I am ever so slowly translating L3's help files from Japanese to English. Learn L2 and when you're ready move on to L3. L3's texture dialog allows for color/texture blending, specularity/glow(light)/bump/reflection/transparency maps, custom texture loading and backgrounds. You can load in custom parts without needing to build libraries, etc.

A lot of these special effects and materials are render properties, that's why pre-rendering textures is important for game model making since you can't take DoGA's render engine with you.

I have translated the Parts Assembler help file (the biggest and most important one) if you want to try and step up to L3.

Look at the combo box in the file load dialog box. It says something like *.l3p. If you pull it down, you'll find *.l2p and you can import your old files.

nice work DarkWing Duck, may be there would be still some work on texture, like making some cover plates, tools, small details, not only camouflage, but in general its OK.

Keep up good work

Aye, the devil is in the details. Of course, it all depends on if this model is going to be a major prop or part of a tank rush.

One of the tools in the DoGAL3 directory is the Object Convertor. This allows you to read in SUF files for Metasequia or the DoGA parts directory and tweak things such as default colors and more importantly texture coordinate mapping. The Object Convertor's big whoop-de-do is that it can import DXF files and you can find a ton of those on the internet and most of them are freebies.

Not all DXF files are created equal. So, you might want to someday download Metasequoia LE or Milkshape 3D to fix those DXF files since they have a bad tendancy towards flipped faces or even whole models that are inverted. L3 is nice, but it is not the end of the road for 3D modelling.

For example, I've been playing with the Creature Creator demo and it has a nasty habit of flipping the DXF files inside/out.

DoGA CGA comes in easy to digest lessons. They are cleverly named L1, L2, and L3. L1 covers the very basics of 3D object placement, rotation, and scaling. L2, adds textures, materials, and multi-jointed models. L3, include support for custom backgrounds, textures, parts, and additional tools for animation, texture coordinate editting, etc.

L1 and L2 have English language help files. L3's help files have not all been converted to English. I do have some of L3's help files converted on my DoGA support page. Mainly the one for the Parts Assembler which is the biggie.

All three versions are free to download and use. L2 and L3's will not render movies unless registered. But, that doesn't stop you from using it as a game model creation tool. All version export Direct3D .X files and I believe both L2 and L3 have a triangulation option for those of you using DBP 5.2.
