I made my first 3D object in MilkShape. It took me about 4 hours from idea to this file:

and now I have the problem.

I can use it in DBP but I dont know how to texture it. Can any help me?

Take a look at the materials tab. You can set up textures, colors, and other material properties. there. You then select the faces of the model and assign the materials to them.

The shading on some of the polygons is unusual. You might want to select individual polygons and use the reverse vertex order menu item (Ctrl SHift F) to try cleaning it up a bit and make the surface look better.

I know how to put textures on, but when I save it the textures will not be saved so I can use it in DBP

Don't know if anyone uses it any more, it might be obselete but you can texture objects in the program. Try something like.


Now I think about it though this command might only be good for texturing things like cubes and spheres, not complex shapes. Whatever, try it and see what happens.

I could do that.... But I want to make a bmp-file with texture to the axe

Well..... is now working on some houses

If the model already has UV maps, the texture will align properly.
