Newcomers DBPro Corner / How do you create/import sprites for dbc or dbpro

Can any1 help me, i made a start of a game but want some characters in it so.. i need sprites, how do i create them + then import then

Sprites are simply images. You make the image in a 2D graphics editor, load them into DB, and then assign the image ID to a sprite ID. The advantage of sprites over just pasting images is that you gain commands that are applicable to sprites such as movement and rotation.

Here is a quick little explanation of how to create a sprite.

1. Open up MS Paint

2. Draw something in it, make the image kind of small 32x32-128x128 so it doesn't take up the whole screen

3. Save it as a 256 color .bmp "myimage.bmp" or something in the same directory your program is going to be in

4. Open up DB

5. Type in:


Spites are drawn over all the other 2d stuff, and by default when you move them they won't leave a little messy trail behind them.

uh, arn't you supposed to have the GET IMAGE img#,x1,y1,x2,y2 command in there?

[edit] nevermind, i missed the LOAD IMAGE command
