Hi, Due to the recent events regarding the 'r' abbreviation and the 'f' word, I'd like to lighten the mood with a little competition.

Joshualimm (if I misspelt that I apologise) had a good idea.

Create a game and on the 20th of December, I'll judge which is best.

We'll need a few more judges, preferrably ones that take a neutral stance on the 'f' wars.

If you're going to judge, you can't enter the compo.

Any length of code - make an exe no bigger than 20 megs.

That's all.

r and f... hmmm
oh oh i know Rapscallions Foot B)

but 20mb - where's everyone to find that much space
think would be better if it was like a tech demo rather than full game. ya know the luck we all have with actually finishing titles

oh and forgot to ask if the games
will be compared all together or they will be compared based on their categories?

Game:
Any game that allows Vegeta and Simple to have a hearty 2 on 2 fight. I'm sure the two of them will look most adorable.

Anyway, just a suggestion. ;D

Denki, Bitmap - sure.

Raven Vegeta - I said up to 20 megs

A tech demo is fine by me.

I think we'll judge on style and playability and such factors, due to their presence in most genres of game.

2 categories - Game and Tech Demo.

Mind - games can be simple and non graphic intensive, I'd take the short time span into account that not a lot of fancy media will be used.

I might be able to piece together some sort of hosting option, where you send me your files and I'll upload them for a week or two. I'll look into it.

I can judge, have Broadband, won't be entering, and can offer around 100MB of space if anyone needs it.

Ah cool, if you don't mind!

Each judge can decide on an overall grade out of 10. Just e-mail me and I'll find the mean on the 20th.

I can judge, I can possibly host, I am most certainly not entering, and I regard myself as being neutral in the R and F... thing. And Raven Vegeta, it's not my foot... don't know were you got that one, so let's keep it that way.

I can judge too!

My Qualities:

1. I'm totally neutral.

2. I'm like Denks & Bitmaps - fast machine & on broadband.

3. I'm not entering.

4. Trying my best to ease the situation by creating the first Christmas Carol inside a Flamebait Topic! Hehehehe!

Sounds good. The more judges we get, the better an average will be.

p.s. Solidus, I like the new avatar.

How about blind mans bluff, but make it blind and deaf mans bluff, the player is the blind and deaf man and the game has a blank screen and no sound, you know so they won't miss out on anything, the bluff is that the code is minimal and can be done in the remaining ten days.. is there a category for this? what I really mean is I would like to enter but am incapable of making a game in 10 days, or even 10 weeks (or so it seems..), good luck with the compo and I won't judge because I have a 56k connection (laugh if you must.. yeah hah haa..) and there seems to be lots of judges so far, enough to not need me.

Go go gadget copter!! (as he speeds crazily into the distance)

Hope no1 enters - then I might have a chance of winning! lol j/k

Can we remake games or do they have 2 b original? Can we use pre-made models ie DarkMatter or is that too lazy? I just tht it'd save time as I still haven't actually started
