Newcomers DBPro Corner / limb collision

i have a guy tht can put his arm out to touch other objects, but how would you detect collision like that. in other posts it said to make the arm another object but i dont kno how to do that and im using a model that i didnt make.

You need to make a box or cylinder that's approximately the size of the limb so that it will fit around it. Then every loop you need to put it exactly where the limb is, and use that object to check for collision.

but how would you make the box or cyli9nder move along with the animation of him putting his arm out?
