I figure the more people who get onto this, the better
For time reference, the cartoon I'm trying to remember was on when I was between 6 and 13 years old, which is about 10 to 15 years ago.

Here's what I can remember. In the same style as Transformers, Visionaries, perhaps even MASK you had some good guys who were trying to kick other bad guys' asses.

When the good guys wanted to open up a can of whoopass they'd jump up into the air and all sorts of crap would fly in from all around and bolt on to their bodies. Guns, armour, jetpacks. They sort of looked like a storm-trooper-esque guy when finished...

What was this cartoon called?

4 guys in our office are trying to remember...

I think I know the one... were they different colours? (i.e. one guy was red, one yellow, one green) ?

And their suits.. they looked like they almost had giant lego bricks on them?

Cheers,

Rich

I think I know the one - just cant remember the name
I recommend searching on some sites that detail 70/80/90's programs and see what you can find.

M.A.S.K was the best.

Centurions!

How the hell did you come up with that? I mean, I would've done a google search but i don't think "guys jump superheroes guns stick" would've come back with much.

Also, how long did that distract you from work?

Hehe, I reckon Rich has a secret stash of 80's cartoon videos - he always seems to be clued up about retro stuff. I remember the cartoon and the name now, I was never a fan though - I always preferred Terrahawks and 'Battle of the Planets'.

Was battle of the Planets the one where they had this space ship that looked like a BattleShip (sea faring) and was named "The Argo" with a wicked "wave motion" gun. I used to love that cartoon - prolly 20 years ago tho.

I must've been about 4 or 5 when Terrahawks first aired. That woman scared me sh*tless. Honestly - I was *scared* of that program.

Damn damn damn!!! Stupid work always gets in the way.....

Yep, I knew that one. Was a tops cartoon.

Slightly wrong description though I think. If I remember rightly they had their armour beamed down from some space station or another. One was always a flying thingy, one was watery, and one was landy. Technical terms obviously. Depending on the situation they could call down the level of armour they needed. So if it was a big battle then beam down the heavy duty stuff etc. And I'm pretty positive they didn't jump into the air to get the armour, it just beamed down on them as they stood with arms and feet apart. The flying bloke may have leapt, but then he wouldn't have crashed to earth again... and they said something like "POWER EXTREME!!!!!".

Would be quite a cool game really....

Cheers

Oh, and battle of the planets was tops. Mate of mine said they still made them in Japan or somesuch (as G-Force).

And Terrahawks was alright. Wasn't her name Zelda? Best bit was the naughts and crosses game at the end. Esp when the bad robots cheated.

Although Ulysses (and then some number after it?? Maybe 31 or 51?) was probably my favourite cartoon as a kid. Tops.

Sigh. C'mon, someone make a classic 80's cartoon game. I'll suggest Usagi Yojimbo. Top badass ninja guy. Ahem... ok, rabbit....

Sorry, always call them cartoons, whether they are animated or not. North Wales thing I suppose.

As far as I know he only had the comic. Although I found him through the computer game. Class stuff. Rabbit bodyguard. Oh yes. Oh, and look him up, and theres loads of stuff. Apparently appeared in Ninja turtle comic a few times too. Plus there are offshoot characters such as Space Usagi and stuff like that. Tops.

Cheers

So... was the word 'tops' on Dictionary.com's word of the day today or something? You must have said it at least 10 times in your last two posts lol.

Personally I liked MASK and Voltron was alright as well.

There was a Centurions game for the C64, it'd probably make a really neat game today though.

Never really cared much for Thundercats, but always loved the music. Couldn't tell you one single storyline from any episode The game was so much better

Ulysees was good though, at the time when Childrens BBC was presented from a boom cupboard with Gordon the Gopher! You could even send off for the words to the music and sing-along when it started each day.

I quite liked Captain Power tbh! Terrahawks was just weird.. that nasty witch like one with her derranged son who would eat all that gross green jelly while muttering to himself! That was pretty f'd up if you ask me.

Cheers,

Rich
