Hey guys,

I have a crazy question. There's a song I've been trying to locate for over 10 years. Yes, 10 years. Problem is, I only know scattered words from the song, and my memory is so bad the words I remember are probably wrong. Anyone have any tips for finding the band?

I have tried searching lyric sites, tried guessing the name of the song by a lyric, and many other things. I hope to hear it on the radio so I can listen to who the band is, but I haven't heard it in a good three or four years! The song is from the 70's.

Anyways, I'm going crazy.

Here's what I know of it so far:

"How does it feel... when you've really got a lot to lose (do?)...
Can you give it all away (to me?)..."

It's kind of a rock song, and it has cool violin parts to it. Argh!

there are moody blues lyrics sites, have a search there. I have been looking around because things like this bug me too. Can you give any more definite lyrics - and describe the song style more, other than to say it's kinda like the moody blues.

Usually searching "(any lyrics) lyrics" on google finds the song but I can't find any that match the ones you put. First time ever.

FOUND IT!

I can't believe it--- I've searched long and hard, but I *think* I've fond it. It's called Can You Give it All to Me by the band Myles & Lenny. It's from the early 70's, and they're a Canadian band

The only reason I think I'm almost 100% positive is because I read a reviewer gushing at the amazing violin, saying it was eerie.

One problem--- all their albums are out of print and not even available on CDNOW.COM.

Oh well, gotta download the MP3 By the way, it's not illegal to share music in Canada. I'll let you all know if this is in fact the song.

I know what you mean, it bugs me and I constantly wonder about it, but I'm good at rememering some lyrics, I'm currently looking for the mp3 of Black Sabbath's After Forever

Have you ever thought about your soul - can it be saved?
Or perhaps you think that when you're dead you just stay in your grave
Is God just a thought within your head or is he a part of you?
Is Christ just a name that you read in a book when you were in school?

When you think about death do you lose your breath or do you keep your cool?
Would you like to see the Pope on the end of a rope - do you think he's a fool?
Well I have seen the truth, yes I've seen the light and I've changed my ways
And I'll be prepared when you're lonely and scared at the end of our days

Could it be you're afraid of what your friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above?
They should realize before they criticize
that God is the only way to love

Is your mind so small that you have to fall
In with the pack wherever they run
Will you still sneer when death is near
And say they may as well worship the sun?

I think it was true it was people like you that crucified Christ
I think it is sad the opinion you had was the only one voiced
Will you be so sure when your day is near, say you don't believe?
You had the chance but you turned it down, now you can't retrieve

Perhaps you'll think before you say that God is dead and gone
Open your eyes, just realize that he's the one
The only one who can save you now from all this sin and hate
Or will you still jeer at all you hear? Yes! I think it's too late.

The music (not the singing) reminds me of Malcolm in the Middle, especially the opening

You're just jealous cuz the voices don't talk to you!!!
