I was reading somewhere that the T3 was the second to fastest connection in the world. If this is true, what is the fastest? Ha someone I was designing a site for thought he could afford t3, he thought itd be cheap, he like almost fainted when he saw 15,000 dollar per month.

Anyway what is the fastest?

i think OC12 links are even faster but they are usually gateways to countries.

there are some 20mbit lines.

The inter country links are in the 20 to 30gbit range .

Whats so good about living anywho?

I remember looking into NTL's business packages a while back. Basically it stated it could handle upto 36Mbits. Also indicated could do dual lines. So assume it's 2 18Mbit lines. Having 2 36Mbits would be interesting though.....

It didn't state the price though. Think its one of those things that you meet with them and negotiate a price. Esp if its thousands a month.

oc12's are hundreds of megs so i dont know of anything faster.

perhaps a full open fibre optic bundle with a couple of gigs of bandwidth.

My school, and all the schools in the brough, are hooked up to a 1 Giga bit connection very fast when theres no one using it but when its on full capacity its slower than a 56k (there are about 10-12 schools on it *1000 pupils roughly).

OC48 is currently the fastest (i think, speed: 2.4Gbps)

Ah, actually, there is "10GigE" which I'm pretty sure is the fastest. I'm not entirely sure but I think the speed is 10,000Gbps. The prices range from $60,000 to $100,000 (U.S.) dollars.
