A charater kit might be nice. As for a mecha kit, anyone that can download DoGA CGA has one of those.

Now, if you're offering something with animation, either one would be nice.

ok how what polygon size? 400 and below, 400 to 800 or 800 to 1400.
just for reference.oo what format do you want? 3ds, x, 3dc, Because i use 3d canvas. (i'll try to put in animation if i can learn how lol, that shouldn't be a problem)

low - high polies, cuz we might want high polied models for cut-scenes and low for the game. .3ds would probably be the best format. And try to make it so that we can basically make any type of character; futuristic, medieval, present. Different clothes etc...

Personally I think 400 is good for a character.
.3ds as RPG_Freak said would probably be best and maybe a clothes kit with different clothes suited for the characters?

as far as polies go either do both high poly and low poly versions or just do versions that are 800-1000 (400 seems a little low )
and try to make them as customizable as possible

Well, when my character kit is complete. Any type of character will be possible. Human, elf, zombie, child, young, old, baby, one leg, two,te clothes kit was always there. I have an idea to make it even better. Im going to try and make an allegiance with deled and port my character kit into that program. Then you will have modelling functions and a good user interface. Thus making it easy to customize your mode. In order to make it unique.

here are some pics of my high poly "primitive" as i call it the base for all models

I'll post completed characters a.s.a.p.. This model is under 800 polygons. There are no hands and feet because I have found it to be easier to customize that way.

I currently have to bodyies a male and a female, m going to start create a basic skin for each and then make add-ons so you can get the feel of this character kit thing. Add-ons such as hair-styles,hands, feet, gloves, boots, coats, jackets, sunglasses and...any ideas...ooh hats too.

A long cloak- preferably one easy to re-texture maybe chain/plate mail or one of those suits (like with a jacket and a white shirt and a tie )

do you think it would be better to makae fully textured bases instead. eg. A rpg base, a action base an armour base and so on....
about the texture thing all uv mapped textures will be included so all you need do is repaint the texture to your needs.thanks for the input.

umm i hit a snag. Seems as though theres a couple of consistency probs with my models. the surface and the axis. I know how to fix the surface probs but how do you center the axis. It keeps rotating around the point instead of on it.help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have model bases of a two-legged person, one-legged, stumps, skirt, dress and no legs. Arms ar easily adjustable. Any other type of base that I need? I'm thinking of making monster bases as well. Its quite easy from my body primitive. Is that a good idea?

That would be great. and possibly if you could you could make demons like my drawing(not posted) that has whispy legs instead of full ones.

Forgive my n00bness, but a character kit? As in characters for download and/or purchase? If so, super-cool, man. That would be exceptionally awesome.

Do you think you could use the edit post button instead of double posting so much please. I asked nicely, but I know that there are others out there that would not ask nicely (speaking from experience)
Thanks

As your base model (like in the screenie), think it should allready have muscle lines etc, and the first thing you have to do is define the skin colour.
And make a weight feature, where you can adjust his weight so that you can make him fat, musclular or skinny or average.
